Admissions

Applications for Reception 2025 are now open and the deadline is 15th January 2025. Please contact the Local Authority Admissions team if you require further assistance.

Admissions to Rockmount Primary School are controlled by Croydon Local Authority, with the exception of Nursery.

Visit www.croydon.gov.uk/admissions to be guided through the steps in the application process and to find out the progress of your application.

Please contact Croydon Local Authority if you wish to appeal against any decision made by the authority.

Please note, that Rockmount Children's Club is currently at full capacity and there are no spaces. If you are allocated a space at Rockmount for Reception for 2025-2026, you will be able to apply but will automatically be placed on the waitlist as the club is full. We cannot guarantee a space at Breakfast or After School Club for September 2025.

We cannot cater for Nursery pupils at Rockmount Children's Club.

Please click the link below to apply for a Nursery place for 2025-2026. You will need to register an account to submit your initial enquiry.

Please be advised that completion of an initial enquiry does NOT guarantee your child a place. The admissions team will confirm if we can offer your child a place by 4th April 2025. Please do wait to hear from us.

How to apply

Nursery

Applications must be made directly to the school via the link above (available from September 2024 on this page). If a place is not immediately available you have the option to keep your child's name on the waiting list.

We offer:

  • Morning sessions 8.30am-11.30am
  • Afternoon sessions 12.15pm-3.15pm
  • Full days 8.30am-3.15pm

All children are entitled to five sessions a week. (15 hours) You may choose to pay for additional sessions at £19 each or £83 for a full week. We also charge £2.20 for a school lunch, plus lunchtime supervision for full days which is £7 a lunchtime. (Please note that the full fee is payable during periods of sickness, family holidays and any other absences. We do not charge for Inset Days or Bank Holidays.)

You may be entitled to 30 hours child care free of charge. To find out more, please visit:

Where there is over subscription, we use Croydon's admissions criteria, where priority is given to:

  1. Looked After Children (i.e. children in public care)
  2. Siblings: Children with a brother or sister who will be in attendance at the school at the time of enrolment of the new pupil.
  3. Medical: Children with serious medical reasons needing to attend Rockmount in particular (the application must be supported by a letter from a professional such as a doctor or a social worker)
  4. Distance: Priority will be given to children living nearest to the school as measured in a straight line

During the spring term, we will begin a first round of offers where we will ask that you accept your nursery place by a given date. After that date, if we have remaining places available, a second round of offers will be sent out.
If you have not been contacted by the May half term, this will unfortunately mean that there are no remaining places at this time.

Please note that a place in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the Reception Class. You must apply for this separately.

Reception

If you live in the borough you must apply on the Croydon Common Application Form (CAF). Applications can be made online at www.eadmissions.org.uk. If you live in a different borough, you will need to apply on your own borough's form.
