We had a beautiful bright and sunny morning for our latest Sunday Community Club. A little hard work, refreshments and some much-needed sunshine helped the wellbeing of us all!
The pond area was transformed with many willing hands on site. The bushes were pruned back, pathways were cleared of any rubbish, leaves and dead growth. Pathways were reinstated using logs to demarcate them and the back chippings were spread to make the paths more accessible. This will make it much easier for the classes during their outdoor learning sessions.
We enjoyed seeing some of the plants and bulbs planted in the autumn starting to poke through the ground and are looking forward to some lovely spring colour in the garden area over the next few weeks.
We will need lots of help for our next Community Club session as we are going to build a new composting area inside the Edible Garden. Our children can learn about composting on site and use it to mulch the vegetables and fruits they are growing. Please look out for the next flyer and sign up to give us some help - any knowledge or skill in this area will be greatly appreciated along with any supportive chat!
